  • Constant Reinstall Required

Acorn Tv is great the App simple does not work constantly. The only solution is to constantly reinstall it. Get a new developer. The programs will play for 5 to 8 minutes the suddenly quit. We only have the streaming problem with Acorn. Please fix the problem or there is not reason to keep paying the monthly charge.
  • Terrible App!

This app refuses to stream content on my iPad about half the time. It tells me it is unable to stream my selection. To make the app work I’ve had to repeatedly remove it, go to the App Store and download it again. Amazon and Netflix offer apps that work. Why can’t Acorn? This isn’t rocket science.
  • Swipe Line

On my iPhone Xs Max, the white tap/swipe line does not disappear when watching videos on full screen. Can you please resolve this issue, so that the white swipe line does not stay on while watching a video because it is very distracting. Normally, on other apps, the line disappears 3 seconds after the video begins playing. I would appreciate this issue being resolved promptly.
  • When it works it’s good

The app had been working fine for months. I could easily use it with chromecast to cast it to my tv. Lately it won’t cast. It seems like it’s going to work, shows the acorn name on the tv screen, and then the name of the show. Then it just stops; the acorn name comes back on the screen, and the show stops playing. I really hate this. Acorn does have some good shows. Originally I got it just to watch the Vera episodes that were not on Britbox, but then I found quite a few other shows I like so I decided to keep it. Update 10/15/18: Well now the Chromecast icon doesn’t show up even though on their website they say they’ve fixed the problem! The only way I can watch it now is online. That’s really inconvenient. The Acorn help page has this update: Service Update - 10/09/18: Issues preventing casting from iPhones, iPads, and Android devices to Chromecast enabled devices have been resolved. Some customers may still experience a caption outage while casting. If this is the case, please be aware that we are working to correct the caption issue for all customers as soon as possible. If you are using an iOS device, please make sure you update to the most recent version of the Acorn TV app (3.0.5). WRONG! The issues with Chromecast have NOT been resolved. I checked and do have the latest version. Update 10/21/18: Still no Chromecast!! Ugh. The programs get 5 stars. The app gets 1 star.
  • iOS app breaks regularly

Acorn TV App for iOS breaks regularly. Sometime later the support group says that The problem has been fixed, but it isn’t. It may take them months to finally fix the problem, but then after a few more months it breaks again. A terrible app!
  • Fails to cast to TV with Chromecast from iPad

The shows are great, but the ability to cast to our TV from our iPad is nonexistent. In fact, it fails to work entirely. So unless you want to have everybody squeezing around your iPad this app is enough to make us want to cancel the subscription and go to Britbox a competitor. Oh by the way, YouTube does cast from our iPad to our tv through Chromecast.

I love the program selection. But did an update and lost chromcast for use with my iPad. Have tried to contact Acorn at least 7 times thru email. No replies. There is no phone contact!!! When it works I really like it. Pretty upset now. No customer support.
  • Poor app design and content

Dear Acorn: I want to love your app and subscription. But poor design, execution and limited assets that you release make it unattractive. Please consider making your app to be fully integrated with Apple TV, Siri Remote and the TV app in iOS. Your app is a poor experience on any platform right now. I am not alone in my opinion and I hope to appeal to you to enhance the experience for folks who know that you can do better. Also, it looks like you hold tight to your assets. However in doing so, you are making it clear that you do not place the customer at the center of everything that you do. For example, why is only some of your Poirot Collection available and not all? It’s shameful. Why do you not allow full screen viewing? Why do you not allow picture-in-picture in your app? Why do you still have problems with subtitles? Thanks in advance for letting me provide feedback.
