  • Teaching improper letter formation

    By Suzanraymond
I’m trying this out with my 4 yr old. Have only had it 2 days and I already have a problem with it. I am a school based occupational therapist. I spend most of my day working on fine motor skills, particularly handwriting. It’s a huge problem that letter formation is not taught in school any more. I just watched this app form a “d” with a circle and a separate stick. That’s how kids “d” look like upside down lollipops and lower case “a” look like capital Q’s. Handwriting without tears and Zane-Bloser are the major handwriting programs. Please look into the letter formation. I can’t believe this app has been out there this long and you haven’t already fixed this issue. For many kids, your program will be the first exposure to writing.

It’s not free once so ever, for a game that’s supposed to be teaching kids and the first thing they learn is how to lie. Don’t download, don’t play, and never pay, loads of free apps that do the exact same thing as this app made by greedy individuals instead of caring people trying to make a difference.
  • Bugs...

We paid for a year and are only about a month or so in.. After the most recent update about week ago, the app constantly crashes, freezes, won’t open, etc. Our daughter hasn’t really been able to use it at all since. Super disappointed.

I really like this app and it has helped my son a lot, but something needs to be fixed all of a sudden my sons avatar is bald, his tickets are gone, and if its not the screen that keeps freezing the sound goes out. Seriously please fix these issues so I don't have to cancel our membership.
  • Kills the ipad battery

    By momof3homeschooled
I have mixed opinions on this app. The app is good not great because my almost 4 year old can’t run this app on her own correctly as it’s much stuff to click on and get lost in doing without actually learning the things I WANT her to learn. With that being said their actually learning items are great for correcting her while still letting her win the game. I find the app run extremely slow and glitches a lot I hoped that they had fixed this issue since the last time we had this app which was 4 years ago but they didn’t. I also have a large ipad which battery normally last all day with my kids playing on it all day but with abc mouse app in use it will take a whole 2 hours to kill the battery. So it’s definitely not for use if you can’t afford for the ipad battery to die like doctor visits or long car rides. Outside of that the app is actually great as long as you make sure they are using it right.

  • WiFi needed

I really wanted to like this app. It only gives you limited stuff offline. I really wanted my son to be able to use the app in the car as I have an iPad with cellular service. We don’t have WiFi in our home either. So $10 a month is way over priced for its limitations.
  • Clunky, cumbersome and boring

It is a very large app that requires wi fi for downloading, in general is very slow, the content and games are just OK but difficult to find on the site and get to the actual educational content, just a bunch of fluff
