I love being able to choose books that I can quickly get a summary of. I really enjoy the ability of the audio. Every time I take a shower I also listen to a book. For some reason the selections of books are phenomenal. Blinkist keeps me up to date on all the current reads and makes me aware of older books I missed.

How do I get my money back if you forget to cancel within the trial period????? What app charges for a full year after a trial period? My fault for not reading the fine print.
  • THEY TRICK YOU WITH THE TRIAL

I’ve enjoyed the content so far BUT the 7 day trial is really a 6 day trial because you need to cancel 24 hrs before, which is how they get you!!! Now I have $80 charged to my account that I cannot afford or get refunded for. I doubt I can get a years worth of interesting content out of this app. Very expensive

Really enjoying and getting a lot out of the app so far. Gonna play with the settings and see if the audio playback can be a little more automatic - maybe I’m missing something - otherwise, really slick and looking forward to using more. ~SW

I’ve read a lot of books about motivation, finance, entrepreneurship, self development and they all seem to have the same the same thing in common. 90% lecture and 10% actionable. Blinkist has been very successful in getting me that 10% and saving me from the other 90%. I’ve ever listened to the blinks of some of my favorite books and can say that I got just as much, if not more out of them than the actual books. Thank you!

I hardly ever write reviews, but I had to make an exception. Such a great concept and executed well. I’ve read/listened to 4 books today alone. I’m already using some of the tools learned in one of the books I read/listened to this morning. I used it on my commute to and from work and can’t wait to get to some more titles tmrw. Definitely worth the money!

  • Update #2 - Finally, I Am Using Blink

[UPDATE #2 - 05/15/18] At least for now I’ve gotten past their confusing subscription model which only offered to go from 1 week trial to an annual plan. Still not sure how I ever found the monthly plan but I’m finally using Blink; and, I find the more I use it, the more I’m getting to like Blink. As for myself, the first Trial Blink I listened to was not very good. But I’m finding each blink to be a product between author, Blink copy writer, and narrator. Since listening to my first Blink, I’ve found very interesting Blinks, with good information, well written, condensed, and narrated. So I’m adding another star. I will return next month, with my final evaluation of Blink. [UPDATE #1 - 05/11/18] I honestly do not know how I found a page that enabled 1 month subscriptions, it wasn’t easy . (I believe I came across it while running the app on my iPad.) Therefore, to be fair, I added a star and signed up for a monthly automatic renewal subscription plan that can be canceled at any time. I still am not satisfied with the difficulty understanding the app’s subscription plans, they are very confusing. I suggest that the developers offer a simple 2 week trial after which you provide options to subscribe for a monthly or annual plan. Your 1 week trial is too short to evaluate, and at the end of the trial period I was only offered an annual plan. So, I now have a month to fairly assess the app, after which I will update my review again. [ORIGINAL REVIEW] I’m writing this after only a few days of trying Blinklist. It’s a shame that the subscription plans is the most confusing I’ve ever seen (as listed as in-app purchase in the App Store). It has different prices for the same item, shows a monthly option, and various types of Blink, e.g. what’s the difference between your Plus and Premium plans? As if that weren’t bad enough, after a short one week trial the app’s only subscription ‘choice’ is one full year at $80. That is absurd. What happened to the other plans, like a monthly rate? They’re gone. It seems rather sleazy to have the shortest trial and to potentially charge for a full year after only one week. Why only a one week trial? Is that so people, used to two week trials, will be charged for a full year. I would have subscribed for one month. But I can’t see my way to an annual subscription for an app I hardly had time to try. My experience with your Blinks is not impressive. The summaries are so brief that there isn’t much material there. It reads like a list of bullet points. Too bad, there was so little time to try the app. Had I been able to give it a decent trial and a one month renewal I might have written a different review. {See above Updates for my latest opinions}.
  • Don’t do it!

I was unsure about this but thought I would give it a try. After a couple of weeks I discovered the abbreviated versions of books don’t really make for good reading or understanding. I cancelled (or so I thought). It was a nightmare trying to get someone from Blinkist to confirm my cancellation and I was never able to get even a prorated portion of my payment (I used this service for a month!). Blinkist blamed Apple and Apple took ZERO RESPONSIBILITY... easiest money they’ve ever made and my loss because this service isn’t for the serious reader.

I really like the concept and enjoy the daily free sample. I’d just wish there wouldn’t be this wast oven of self help books that all say the same thing. There are really good and great books that might be a bit more academic but even more valuable to learn from than the mainstream junk. Just a thought. Keep up the great work though!
