    I like the app except for the fact it constantly shows stories more than once. The 140ish articles that it says it has is probably 20 less than that if duped are counted. Seems like that would be an easy fix ?
  • Love the Globe...but

    This app fails on me about once a month. Then I reload, reset my password and have to wait for it to start working again. It also fails if I try to load it on more than one device...what a mess. I pay for a subscription that I can’t use. It’s almost like having an unreliable paper carrier, sometimes I get the paper, sometimes I don’t. With all the crappy reviews is the Boston Globe doing anything to fix this?

    How hard is it to provide paying customers with a product that works? After a year of complaints and negative comments, there have been no upgrades to what is truly one of the worst reading apps I have ever used. The pages don't size properly and have to be re-sized for each page. It is hard to get to different sections quickly. The automatic download feature doesn't seem to work. Even the manual download feature doesn’t work if the paper isn’t read immediately after downloading. All in all, I wonder if someone at the Globe has ever tried to actually read a paper on the app. I only wish I could give 0 stars and am so disappointed that this hasn’t been corrected after so much time.
  • Good App but Behaves Oddly at Times

    I love the feature that allows user to download the paper. When you know you're going to be out of internet reach (like at the beach) this is a major advantage. Occasionally article selection doesn't work for certain articles. Tap on article and nothing happens. But tap on the next one and it works. Just annoying. The Manage Downloads tool should allow users to multi select so they can delete multiple editions to free up space. I decided to suggest this change using the Feedback option. Sadly and ironically, when I tapped on that IT DIDN'T WORK. Also, the crossword cannot be printed. No point in showing it. Either make it Acrosslite compatible or make it printable. Bottom line, some good and some bad. But summer at the beach just got better than NYT or WP that don't support download for offline reading.

    How does a company stay with an app that is so consistently wonky, despite many “crash fixes” that don’t actually fix anything. A subscriber for years, I would estimate that I have had to reboot (and sometimes delete, then reinstall the app) on average every 2-3 weeks. The Globe simply accepts this. Infuriating.

    I love that the Globe app is set up in format of the paper and that it is published once a day. That feels to me to be more focused on clear news versus hourly updates . I find it easy to navigate and chose stories.
  • Doesn’t work & complaints get no response

    Functionality of this app has gotten progressively worse. Most mornings it won’t download. You get no response when you send feedback to the paper. I expect better from the Globe.

    I finally caved and got a Globe online subscriptions, and I’m horrified at how bad this app is. I feel as though I should only be able to access this app with a dial up modem. This doesn’t even deserve one star.

    After so many years still has lots of glitches - pages freeze and shut down the app; all pages not able to expand and covert to text mode for larger font. Why can’t the Globe fix these issues ? It is like an amateur developed the app !
