In the process of deleting and reinstalling as it is stuck on an old issue without a way to re-fresh. Delivery of the paper version is just as bad.

I tried to change the stars from a previous review but could not.
We have two family members on our subscription, but 90% of the time the app will only allow one person to download the paper. This app has always been full of problems, but this is the worst.
The sad thing is that the developers get the reviews, and they are the ones who should be fired. Please do not send a canned response.
Time for a letter to Mr Lang.
The app for Albuquerque Journal is a mess: Try to respond to a comment. Sometimes you get comments, other times the screen goes gray. They want to charge to see some things. I would pay if they had a decent app!
This update corrected a lot of the issues.
Our one I pad is very slow loading, the other one loads just fine. It is a lot better than it was.
Bring back the old version
The new "replica" version is awful. Terrible. Horrible. Pick your adjective. No more links to the second page of a multi-page article. No more bottom toolbar to easily scroll to other sections. Yes, I know there is a section selector within the menu, but it is nowhere near as convenient. Pretty soon, no more subscription.

I'll bump up my review one star for the latest updates, which at least show an effort to respond to customer criticisms. But there is still a long way to go.
In response to the developer comment, yes, I know you can tap on the article to see the whole thing in a "reader" mode. But I prefer the formatting of newspaper columns. It is easier on the eyes (or on mine, at least). Plus, I often don't decide to read an entire article until I am part way through it. If I then have to switch to reader mode to continue, it is hard to find my place. Please return the links to jump between pages of a multi-page article.
The returned page browser shows some effort in being responsive to customer wishes, but it comes nowhere close to the old browser. Opening the browser always shows page 1 first, not the page you are on. The numbers overlaying the pages are sequential, not the way they are numbered in the paper. For example, in today's paper, the first page of the business section is 9, not B1. The section names are not listed above the pages, like I think they used to be. The size of the thumbnails makes if hard to figure out their content - weren't they formerly larger? Finally, the old functionality of tapping near the bottom to bring up the page browser was easier and required fewer taps than the new menu method.
I do like that you can now read papers without downloading. I don't like that you can no longer set them to be automatically deleted, or that you can only delete one at a time when removing them manually.

I was starting to at least get used to the new app, even if I still didn’t like it as much as the old one. The developer did fix automatic deletions of downloads. Hyperlinks to continued pages were never added back. App page numbers still do not match paper page numbers. But like I said, I was getting used to it.
Now, though, the section browser is broken. The first pages of sections appear at random locations, not sequentially where they belong, and sometime appear more than once. And sometimes the “reader” view of an article does not display properly. It’s almost got to the point where you have to flip one page at a time, sometimes forwards and then backwards, just like a physical newspaper.
Are you ever going to get this right?
Very poor app
This app quits randomly, spends an inordinate amount of time “Preparing your download” during which nothing else can be done, and is very slow to start up. Unfortunately it is the only access to the electronic edition of the Albuquerque Journal that I have. I’d like to rate it zero stars.

Slow and buggy
Unstable app. Requires update. Unsure of status. Takes forever to load, most times I just give up waiting. Developer suggests going to ABQjournal website, but how does one access with an iTunes subscription?
Worst app ever and adios
October 3: This is the most aggravating and poorest designed app I’ve ever used. What did y’all do, take the lowest bid?
There have been problems from the start, but now it is almost impossible to read as the text is blurry and very slowly sharpens when a page is opened or scrolled. It’s ridiculous! And, if I switch to another app and leave this one open, it will always close itself and reopen at the open screen, so I have to start all over and figure out where I left off. It’s really not worth the trouble after all these months of waiting for a reasonably decent reading experience. I’ve been a subscriber for almost 15 years, but there are other sources for news. Providing digital subscription customers an app like this shows disregard for your customers. You apparently don’t value my business so it’s time to say adios.
Sometime last May: Could ya'll see your way clear to making this app functional, please? There are many issues as others have listed, but the thing that's making me close to deleting it and not renewing my subscription is that about 35 old issues are taking up nearly 5Gb the "Delete" tabs beneath the issues don't function. Also, the dates are written incorrectly for the US. May 10, 2017 is 5/10/2017, not 10/05/2017. So, I have to wonder where this app was produced. (I'm hoping production wasn't outsourced to China or Russia.)
Updating my review. Crashing again. Don't you ever test before you release?
Started crashing a few weeks ago. Nothing worked. I closed the app, deleted and reinstalled the app. No joy. Now I can get it to work about every other day. Sometimes just closing the app and restarting does it. Some times I have to delete and reinstall the app. But some days nothing works and it's a waste of money for the subscription. Where are the developers?
